Kat D. Williams is a Professor of Women’s Sport History at Marshall University. She is a Fulbright Scholar, a lifelong baseball fan, and former shortstop. Through her teaching, scholarship and advocacy Kat has dedicated many years to the preservation of girl’s and women’s sport history, and to helping girls become independent, confident leaders. She continues that work as president and a founding member of the International Women’s Baseball Center. She is the author of The All-American Girls After the AAGPBL and the subject of our discussion tonight, Isabel Lefty Alvarez: The Improbable Life of a Cuban American Baseball Star.
