PUBLICK OCCURRENCES — May 27, 2022
If we are creating a new normal, let’s make it better. Learn how to enact DEIA goals at your institution.
Despite intentions, sometimes our progress toward Diversity, Equity and Inclusion can feel glacially slow. Recent societal changes are providing new opportunities for our organizations to make real change, but we need a road map and meaningful goals. Valerie Zolezzi-Wyndham of Promoting Good, LLC and Lindiana Semidei of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation will share strategies for how to actively practice inclusion in historical storytelling and how to foster authentic community engagement. Marieke Van Damme of History Cambridge will then lead a group discussion with all gathered. Bring your questions, challenges, and successes as we learn from each others’ steps and missteps in a judgment-free zone.
BROADENING THE STORIES WE SHARE: AN ANTI-RACISM PLAN will take place from 4-5 pm, Tuesday June 7th. Register today at https://masshistoryalliance.org/register-for-embracing-the-new-or-unexpected/ to join the conversation!
