By Samantha Feder, U.S. Commercial Service

The U.S. Commercial Service’s Global Travel and Tourism team, under the U.S. Department of Commerce, organizes monthly social media campaigns aligned with special recognition months. For March, we are looking to highlight Women’s History Month by sharing experiences related to the vital role of women in American history.

We are looking for impactful content to share with our social media teams across eighty U.S. embassies/consulates. These teams will share your content through their local social media channels, offering your attraction the chance to shine in international markets. If you are interested in contributing to this campaign, please see the below requirements.

  1. We primarily use the platform X (formerly Twitter) and ask that your post contains a 140-character caption on an inspirational/aspirational U.S. attraction related to WHM and is accompanied by one to four images. Please provide images that are in the public domain/do not need a photo credit.
  2. No specific businesses can be featured/referenced in the caption or images. Non-profit organizations can be featured.
  3. Please include the X handle for your organization. We will include our handle and the state Destination Marketing Organization’s handle as well.
  4. Once content is provided to the U.S. Commercial Service team, it will be reviewed to ensure it meets internal criteria and then shared back to obtain confirmation to post.
  5. Approved content will be shared with U.S. embassies/consulates overseas for posting on government-run social media channels (Twitter/Instagram/LinkedIn/Facebook/Weibo).
  6. Overseas Public Affairs teams will review content and share as their schedule and priority allows; number of posts will vary country to country.

If you are interested in participating, please email Samantha.Feder@trade.gov and Chelsey.Libecki@trade.gov by Friday, February 23. Content should be submitted by Wednesday, February 28.
