In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8, 2026), Mass Cultural Council is pleased to support the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), and their work to support teachers. Teacher Appreciation Week recognizes the vital role teachers, administrators, and support staff play in education.
As part of the week’s celebrations, our Acting Executive Director David Slatery joined Education Secretary Steve Zrike, Secretary of Labor & Workforce Development Lauren Jones, Early Education and Care Commissioner Amy Kershaw, local officials, program leaders, and community members for a gathering at Nurtury in Roxbury — a long-standing provider serving children and families across the Boston area — to announce the launch of EEC’s new Educator Discounts Directory.
Through Governor Healey’s Inter-Agency Early Education and Child Care Task Force, the Executive Office of Education partnered with Mass Cultural Council and the Executive Office of Economic Development to launch this directory.
This Educator Discounts Directory connects K–12 and early education and care professionals with a broad range of discounts from some 200 arts and cultural organizations statewide — including museums, orchestras, theater and dance companies, and science organizations. Each organization sets its own discount policies, and educators are encouraged to reach out to the organizations for additional details.
Visit EEC’s Directory to explore the organizations that are listed, or to add your organization’s discount to the list.
