Mass Cultural Council, in partnership with Arts Connect International and HipStory, is happy to support the Summer 2024 Cohort of the Cultural Equity Learning Community (CELC). Registrations for this new cohort are being accepted through January 19, 2024. This two-unit, 12 session, asynchronous anti-racism course with wrap-around supports, is open to arts and culture workers who are committed to building intersectional racial equity. Mass Cultural Council has proudly supported this learning endeavor since its launch in 2021.

This educational opportunity was developed to support our arts and culture ecosystem and its leadership at all institutional levels. To strengthen and transform our creative sector requires an intentional effort that is both iterative and responsive to local and national communities. The Agency’s goal is to provide tuition for this vital training program to a total of 250 Massachusetts cultural workers.

Participants in CELC will have the opportunity to delve deep into understanding the pervasiveness of systemic injustices, their manifestation in daily life, and how they disproportionately impact different communities. In alignment with the Agency’s Racial Equity Plan, our goal with this partnership and learning directive is to build a just and equitable creative sector by promoting harm reduction, increasing anti-racist skill sets, and leveraging collective action.
