Salem, Massachusetts will be 400 years old in 2026. It is rich in history, including a critical role in the American Revolution, and being the richest seaport in America per capita from 1790 to 1812. And then, there’s the 1692 Witch Trials. There were 156 official complaints, maybe 200+ accusations, along with 70 afflicted persons, several judges, dozens of jurors, hundreds of witnesses, and many more who observed the trials. Calculations estimate that there could be more than 50 million descendants from the event. Plenty of them know their lineage, but others do not — many famous, some infamous, and most never having been in the public eye. This presentation will discuss key people involved in the 1692 Witchcraft Trials and their descendants. You might be surprised — perhaps you are one of them!
