More than 60 people gathered in the Museum of African American History | Boston and Nantucket on Friday, June 26, to read Frederick Douglass’ famous speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”
While the rainy weather forced readers to move the gathering indoors, the reading was still a major milestone for Mass Humanities, Community Change, and MAAH—it marked the 17th annual reading in the heart of the city.
