This was the second part of a two-part conversation exploring the relationships between historical organizations and schools. Part 1: “I Did Not Learn That in School!” focuses on historical organizations’ efforts to bring newer approaches to history to the public. Part 2: “Meeting the New Mass History Frameworks” explores historical organizations’ work in supporting the schools in their efforts to teach local history.
Historical organizations often support schools in their efforts to teach local history and research techniques. With the new Massachusetts frameworks everything is changing join us for a Conversation on the Commons to discuss what the new frameworks look like, how you can support your local schools, and what teachers hope to get from their work with history organizations, specifically how investigating history is now part of the third and fourth grade curriculum.
