2022 Mass History Conference

The Leverett Historical Commission and the Leverett Elementary School have been successfully collaborating for the past nine years on projects that engaged sixth grade students in doing original historical research to tell the stories of our past. Representatives from the Historical Commission and the Leverett Elementary School will share details of their “Civil War Days: Leverett in the Civil War Era” and “The One-Room Schoolhouse Project.” They will also discuss the planning and management of the projects, how they connect to the Massachusetts state history standards, and the benefits of these multigenerational collaborations to the community.
