Daedalus Conservation

, ,

For over 30 years Daedalus has helped to preserve many of the commonwealth’s most recognizable symbols of our shared cultural heritage. Our staff of hands-on conservators specialize in the treatment of historic objects made from a variety of materials including metals, stone, plaster, wood, and ceramics. Our projects range from the repair of large scale monuments & architectural ornament to historic plaques & pottery. We work with museums, institutions, universities, government agencies, and private collectors. Some recent projects include; the repair of the old Boston Post Road mile markers (“franklin markers”) which span the state from west to east, the conservation of the Brewer Fountain in the Boston Common, the restoration of the marble busts in the Massachusetts Senate Gallery, the conservation of the historic bronze elements on the Longfellow Bridge, and the treatment and re-setting of the slate grave markers at Copps Hill Burying Ground. Please contact us if you have any questions about how to best preserve or repair the objects in your collections or in your communities.
